General Information for Graduate Students
Teaching and research assistantships are available in the Department of
Electrical and Computer Engineering to qualified students at both the
MSEE and PhD levels. Assistantship appointments typically are either
quarter-time or half-time. Stipends range from $5,000 to over $22,000
for the 9-month academic year. Summer appointments frequently are
available as well.
The ECE Department also offers competitive academic scholarships. A recipient of a teaching assistantship, research assistantship, or competitive academic scholarship qualifies for in-state tuition, which provides a substantial financial benefit for a non-Texas resident. Students also may apply for grants, loans, and financial aid at the Texas Tech University Office of Student Financial Aid in West Hall.
