Graduate Application Deadlines

Deadlines

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) reviews applications from prospective graduate students two times a year.  The deadlines for receipt of applications are as follows: checking time

  • Deadline for Fall Semester Admission:  February 1 
  • Deadline for Spring Semester Admission:  August 1 

Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed during the following review cycle if the applicant wishes.  The ECE Department occasionally makes exceptions to the stated deadlines for Texas Tech undergraduate students who are entering the 150-Hour Program* and at the request of a department faculty member recruiting a specific student. 

 

Graduate School Requirements

Application materials required by the Graduate School of Texas Tech University should be sent directly to the Graduate School.  For instructions refer to the Graduate School website under Prospective Students.

 

ECE Supplemental Materials

Supplemental application materials are required by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering: 
  • Three letters of recommendation on letterhead 
  • Statement of purpose 
  • Résumé

In order to meet the deadlines, materials should be mailed well in advance.

 

Graduate Record Examination

Please note that the ECE Department also requires that graduate applicants take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).  The easiest way for applicants to send their examination scores is simply to indicate on the GRE that Texas Tech University (institution code 6827) is one of the schools to which the scores should be sent.
