The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas Tech University is currently seeking applications and nominations for two Power Systems positions. The ECE department already has a world class program in Pulsed Power and several junior & senior faculty members in the Power Systems & Power Electronics areas.

This is a tenure track position at the assistant/associate professor level
that is part of the overall strategic goal of the College and the University to
play a major role in Energy related endeavors. Other faculty members across
various disciplines the College of Engineering are complementing the
overall Energy research effort and offer a strong potential for synergistic
cooperation.
A Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field is
required. The candidate should have a background in research related to
energy
systems such as:
Utility power systems
- Power systems dynamics & stability
- Power electronics
- Renewable energy
- Hybrid energy systems
- Pulsed power systems.
The successful candidate is expected to teach existing undergraduate and graduate courses, develop new courses, and develop a strong research program in energy related endeavors, including securing external funding. We also expect engagement in professional service activities. We encourage and foster team spirit and cooperation within the department as well as across disciplines.

This is an endowed chair position at the associate/full professor level in the area of Power Systems with a special emphasis in smart grid technology. The endowed chair as well as the College of Engineering is named after Edward E. Whitacre Jr. This offering is part of the overall strategic goal of the College and the University to play a major role in Energy related endeavors. Other endowed chairs in the College of Engineering are complementing the overall Energy research effort and offer a strong potential for synergistic cooperation.
A Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a closely related field is required. The Successful candidate is expected to:

- Develop a strong research program in power systems including
securing external funding.
- Engagement in professional service activities.
